Location of Route 16 in the Kanto region

Kanto Route 16 Map

Map of Route 16

Found in Kanto, Route 16 connects Celadon City and Route 17. It is being separated by fences into the upper and lower sections, where the upper section leads to a dead end while the lower segment leads to Route 17. Many Bikers who specialize in Poison-type Pokémon can be found on this route.

A Snorlax is initially sleeping to the right of the gate at the lower section and the only way to remove it is to get the Poké Flute from Mr. Fugi at the top of Lavender Tower. Even after Snorlax is removed, a bike is needed to progress past the gate.

In addition, players are able to obtain the HM Fly by talking to Sora in the house located at the upper section. Unlike the lower section, players do not need a bike to access this section.
